Obituary

Funeral service for R.V. Bushnell, 96, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Visitation will resume on Monday morning at the church from 8 a.m. until time of service.
R.V. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of strong faith. He was kind-hearted and always had a smile. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. R.V. proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He loved to fish and golf. He also enjoyed gardening and bowling. He also made the best BBQ sauce ever. R.V. was a very humble man who loved caring for others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish R.V.'s memory include his son-William Kim Bushnell of Kinder; his daughter-Tina Blanchard and husband, Mac of Lake Charles; four brothers-C.A. Bushnell and wife, Bernice of Reeves, Buggy Bushnell, Chester Bushnell and wife, Jean and Rev. Carroll Bushnell and wife, Linda, all of Kinder; two sisters-Dean Miller and Ollie Langley, both of Kinder; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
R.V. is preceded in death by his parents-Roman and Elizabeth Bushnell; his first wife-Wilma Ethel Darbonne; his second wife-Beulah Lormand; one son-Robert Vincent Bushnell; one brother-Titus Bushnell; one daughter-Elaine Miller; five sisters-Gerthnell Walston, Viola Savant, Ruth Langley, Vergie Bushnell and Lorie Savant; and one grandson-Robert V. Bushnell, Jr.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Southwest La. War Veteran's Home and Amedysis Hospice for their kind and enduring care.
