Oakdale-Homegoing Services for Ruth Louise Milam, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tim Kelley and Rev. Jonathan Milam will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 5-9 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. Visitation will resume Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Ruth was a devoted wife to her husband, Rev. James Milam, for 58 years until his passing. They preached at many churches where she was always by his side no matter where the Lord told them to go. Ruth was a great inspiration to her children and grandchildren to always live for the Lord. She was a graduate from Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN, as well as, a Sunday school teacher for 55 years and a teacher of teachers. Ruth was able to read through the Bible many times. Her children rise up and call her blessed. She was a faithful servant until the time God called her home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Ruth's memory include her son, Douglas Jonathan Milam and wife, Pamela; one step-son, James Edward Milam and wife, Lucinda; three daughters, Marlyn Joy Milam Sauers; Faith Ann Milam Single and husband, Joe, and Anita Beth Coker and husband, L.C.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, George and Eva Douglas; husband, Rev. James Chester Milam; and three brothers, Edwin, Marvin and Paul Douglas.
