Ruth Gardner Duplichan

Kinder- Ruth Gardner Phinney Duplichan, 91 passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in a local hospital. She was born on February 10, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois and lived many years in Pasadena, Texas and worked as a cafeteria cook in the school system. She returned to Kinder, La. in 1954 and retired as a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Josephine Phinney; husband, Eurance J. Duplichan; sister, Norma Francis Jebbia and a brother, Floyd Phinney.
Survivors include her children, Martha Fruge and husband Michael; Larry Duplichan and wife Carole all of Kinder; Preston Duplichan and wife Lynda of Canyon Lake, Texas; one nephew, Charles Phinney and wife Wanda of LaMarque, Texas; 7 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Elton.
Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder Thursday from 4pm-8pm with a vigil at 6pm and a rosary will follow.
