Russell John Meaux was a loving husband of 56 years, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was a 1967 graduate of Oberlin High School. Russell served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, and was a very proud, patriotic, American citizen. Russell was a hard worker and worked diligently to provide for his family as a farmer; where he and his brother LeRoy took over the family farm. Their crops included rice, beans, hay, crawfish and cattle. Russell had a passion for music; he was always listening to and dancing to french music and classic rock. He enjoyed Mardi gras, and it was his favorite time of the year. Russell was an avid outdoorsman and loved being outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially spending time with his Catahoula cur dog’s which were his favorite breed. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished the memories he made with them. Russell will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by those who knew him.

Those left to cherish Russell’s memory include his wife, Cecile G. Meaux of Oberlin; two sons, Jeremy B. Meaux and wife Melissa of Oberlin, and Kyle M. Meaux and wife Adrienne of Oberlin; one daughter, Susan M. Paul and husband Curtis of Oberlin; one brother, LeRoy Meaux Jr. and wife Patsy of Oberlin; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
