Oakdale-Funeral Services for Ruby Montou, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tim Deason, Rev. Leon Fontenot and Deacon Brian Soileau will officiate. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 5:30-7 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Ruby was born to the union of Henry and Bessie Chitty Voth. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a devoted member. Ruby was a devoted wife to her husband, Joseph "Bea" Montou for forty years until his passing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Ruby loved to cook, make her own recipes and watch The Waltons re-runs, as well as, The Shepherds Chapel. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Ruby's memory include her son, Britt Laper and wife, Wanda, of St. Martinville; one daughter, Marlana Fortenberry and husband, Alvin "Dwaine", of Sugartown; one sister, Sylvia Underwood and husband, Gene, of Beaufort, SC; three grandchildren, Brooke Rene Laper and fiancé, Nick Touchet, Brittany Alaine Thomas and fiancé, James Henry and Krystal Leigh LaBorde and husband, Jody; ten great grandchildren, Alexia Noelle Breaux, Easton John Touchet, Dravyn Henry, Kierston Henry, Deklan Henry, Kylun Henry, Kaitleighn Henry, Colt LaBorde and Braxlin LaBorde.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Henry "Boob" Voth and Bessie Chitty Voth; husband, Joseph "Bea" Montou; brother, Billy Voth; sister, Gwen Creel; and great granddaughter, Dani Anabelle Henry.

Pallbearers honored to serve are-Britt Laper, Dwaine Fortenberry, Jody LaBorde, James "Jamie" Henry, Nick Touchet and Bubbie Montou.
