Kinder-Funeral service for Mr. Roy Paul Foster, 73, will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 10:00AM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Reverend Terry Bushnell and Reverend Robert Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 2-9PM in Ardoin Funeral Home and will continue on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 8AM until time of service.
Mr. Foster was a resident of Kinder having retired in 1996 from Jefferson County Pct. 1 Road and Bridge with over 30 years of service. He also served in the United States Army Ranger Corp. and was a Veteran of the Korean War in which he served as an instructor of hand to hand combat, mountain climbing, and repelling. He attended Kinder Bible Church and was a member of the VFW of Louisiana Post 0401. Mr. Foster was very patriotic and loved his country. He enjoyed music, he wrote songs and could often be heard whistling a tune. He was truly a man with a soldier's constitution.
Roy and his loving wife, Marquita Ardoin Foster, would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary next May. Other survivors include his brother, John H. Foster and wife, Sue of Winnie, Texas; one sister, Rolly Barlow of Rolla, Missouri; two daughters, Angela Plaisance and husband, Lawrence of Dickinson, Texas and Melanie Geisendorff and husband, Stuart of Beaumont, Texas; four grandchildren, Erica, Justin, Savanna, and Jessica; and two great grandchildren, Christian and Layla; as well as "Rusty". He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joel Donald Foster and James Allen Foster as well as his parents, Stella and Enos Foster. Roy was a loving husband, dad, and grandfather.
