Kinder-Funeral services for Roy A. Taylor Sr., 74, will be held Saturday, November
6, 2010 at 11:00AM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Deacon Roy Nash will
officiate. Burial will follow in the Carter Memorial Cemetery in Kinder.
Visitation will be held Friday in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder from
11:00AM till 8:00PM. Visitation will continue Saturday in Ardoin Funeral Home
at 8:00AM until time of service.
Roy was a very kind and giving person, who had a great love for family.
He was a Veteran Member of the Kinder Fire Department, founding member of the Allen Parish fire district, as well as a founding member of the Kinder Recreation Board. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Roy loved camping and traveling in his motor home, visiting with family
and friends, and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. He could often be found
"tinkering" in his shop, as well. Roy was a loving husband, daddy, and paw paw.
He was a true gentleman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Burnelle Duplichan Taylor; one son,
Roy A. Taylor Jr. of Sulphur; three daughters, Sharon and Sharla Taylor of Kinder,
and Danny Ray and Shelly Butts of Madisonville, Tx.; one brother Clyde Ray
Taylor and Jo Beth of Reeves; one brother-in-law L.J.Duplichan and Kay of
Rockport, Tx.; one sister Martha Nell Wood and Billy of Haughton, La. His
grandkids Daniel Butts and wife Jennifer, Tiffany LeMay and husband Brandon,
Gerald Butts and wife Miranda, Zachary Butts and finance' Ashley, McKinney
Taylor and Ashton Creamer. His great-grandkids, Bailey and Emily Butts, Avreal
and Alston LeMay.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jehu Taylor and Daisy
Wise McKinney; his brother Eugene Taylor; two sisters Virginia Mayes and
Betty Sue Miley; and great-grandchild Aydon LeMay.
