The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, 311 Highway 1152, Oakdale on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
Rose was a devoted wife to her husband, Cass, for 63 years until his passing in 2008. She also had numerous nieces and nephews who loved her and she treated them as her own children. She was very grateful for those that lived close to her and were able to lovingly care for her; Kathy Lawrence, Tonya Hollis, and Dennis Tate took special care of "Aunt Rose". Rose was very active and health conscious all her life and participated in water aerobics three times a week. She loved working in her flower beds and watching the birds and squirrels in her yard. She was a very active member of her church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She sang in the choir and helped with Spring Festival activities among many other ministries over the years. Rose served as a "Pink Lady" for several years at Oakdale Community Hospital. She was a great inspiration to many. Rose will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Rose's memory include her two nieces, Kathy Lawrence of DeRidder and Tonya Hollis of Grant; her nephew, Dennis Tate of Oakdale; as well as many other nieces and nephews and caregivers who loved her very much.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Inez Morgan Lafleur; her husband, Cassimer Joseph (Cass) Hayes; two brothers, Arthur and Raymond Lafleur; and four sisters, Lucille Tate, Jeanette Williamson, Helen Walker, and Juanita Stobie.
Rose's family would like to thank Brighten Bridge Hospice staff, Companion Care of Deridder and her "Companion Care" caregivers, Karen Mellon, Theresa Carter, Sherry Harper, and Andrea Stout as well as her private caregivers, Paula McCallon and Christina Oliver. A very special "thank you" is also extended to Paula and Theresa for staying with the family until "Aunt Rose" went home to be with the Lord.
