Rosa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband Joseph Carrier. Rosa was a lifelong resident of Oberlin and a faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin where she attended church regularly. Rosa was a hard worker and always worked diligently to take care of her family. She had a "green thumb" and loved gardening and growing flowers. Anything that Rosa planted grew! Rosa loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment she spent with them. She was a great and powerful prayer warrior for all her family and friends. Rosa will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Rosa's memory include two sons, Jerry James Carrier and wife Brenda of Elizabeth, LA, and Houston "Bill" Carrier and wife Gloria of Elton, LA; two sisters, Loretta Ashford of Basile, LA, and Vernice Taylor of Oberlin, LA; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, Adam, and Celina Rider; her husband, Joseph Carrier; one daughter, Aline Carrier; two brothers, Hubert, and Herbert Rider; one sister, Rosella Duplechain; and one grandson, Nakia "Nick" Ware.
