Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Wayne Simonds, 61, will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10a.m. in Green Oak Bible Church. Rev. Jerry Long will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be Friday in the church from 5pm-10pm and will continue Saturday at 9am until time of service.
Mr. Simonds served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Calvary during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a highly decorated veteran that was a Purple Heart recipient along with many other medals. He was also a member of the Wounded Warrior Gourd Clan, Carpenters Local, and Operating Engineers Local. Mr. Simonds was a resident of Kinder. He passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Kizer Simonds; sons, Brett Reeves of Austin, TX, Brian Reeves & wife Linda of Prairieville, MSGT Barton Reeves & wife Donna of Cabot, AR, Shannon Simonds & wife Therese of Kinder, Keith Clotio of Foreman, AR, Stephen Simonds of OK; brother, Ricky Simonds of Kinder; 7 grandchildren.
