Oberlin-Funeral service for Ronald L. Goodley, 47, will be held at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Soileau under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7th Street on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m.
Ronald was a lifelong resident of Soileau. He was a 1984 graduate of Oberlin High School and attended McNeese State University. He was employed with Coushatta Casino Resort. He was a dedicated employee, never missed a day of work and always had a smile on his face. He brought about joy wherever he went. Ronald loved his pets and cared for them as though they were his children. Ronald will be remembered by his family and friends for the love and happiness he gave to all of them.
Survivors include his life partner of 13 years, Jason Raymond of Soileau; two brothers, Dennis Darrell Goodley, Sr. and wife, Gwenell of Harvey and Donald James Goodley and wife, Hope of Houston, TX; 8 nieces and nephews, DeNeiya, Travanti, Deyontra, Dennis, Jr., Julia, Olivia, David and Daniel; 2 great nieces, Autumn and Kylee; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Jewel Goodley; infant sister, Margaret; and his two pets, Gracie and A.J.
