Ronald, affectionately called "Ronnie" by all who knew and loved him, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Tina for 26 years. Ronnie was a faithful member of The Breaux Bridge Pentecostals where attended church regularly and loved to worship the Lord. Ronnie worked hard as a salesman in the Oilfield industry to support his family. He worked for Forum Energy Technology in Broussard, LA, where he was a dedicated employee for 24 years. Ronnie loved to spend time with his family and cherished every memory he made with them. He gave everyone a "hard time", but only because he loved to see others laugh. He loved to cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, especially his pastor. Ronnie loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting. He was a kind and affectionate person and loved to help others in their time of need. He helped many people throughout the years and his love, compassion, and service to the Kingdom of Heaven was evident. Ronnie will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Ronnie's memory include his wife, Tina Smith of Breaux Bridge, LA; one son, Darren Smith and wife Raquel of League City, TX; one daughter; Katie Smith and fiancé Clyde Courtright of Breaux Bridge, LA; three brothers, Robert Ray Smith Jr. of Reeves, LA, Max Haron Smith and wife Sandra of Moss Bluff, and Brandt Franklin Smith of Topsy, LA; one sister, Richelle Smith of Westlake, LA; and two granddaughters, Adelyn Dionne and Emmalynn Smith.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents Robert R. Smith Sr. and Ella D. Summrall.
Condolences and words of comfort may be expressed to the family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or our Facebook page at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
Ronnie's family wants to remember him in a special way, so they're asking everyone to dress a bit differently for his visitation and funeral.
You can wear what you're comfortable in, but guys, it's okay to leave the ties at home this time.
