Ronald "Ron" Dean Adams was born February 10, 1949, and passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2024, at the age of 75. Ron grew up in Alexandria, LA where he attended and graduated from Bolton High School. After high school he would enlist in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for 4 years. After his service in the Navy, Ron enrolled into Northwest State University where he earned a degree in business, beginning his lifelong career with the State of Louisiana. Shortly after his well-deserved retirement, Ron moved to Oakdale, LA, where he would spend the remainder of his life. He had countless hobbies that would take up his spare time. To him it wasn't just hobbies, when he found and interest, he poured all his, love, knowledge, and dedication into it. Not only was Ron self-taught, but he mastered everything he did. He had a passion for music which allowed him to play the bass in a band for many years. He even played at the Oakdale Drive-In. Ron loved to fish, a fishing pole in his hand was a common sight for his loved ones. "If a fish was in a ditch, he would fish for it". He was a civil war buff and found great pleasure and researching war sites and metal detecting for war relics with his friend Jr. Ron had a fond love for Astrophotography in which he spent countless hours taking beautiful pictures of the stars, planets, and galaxies. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many winters hunting and appreciating nature and its beautiful surroundings. However, Ron's greatest passion was the love he felt and gave to his family. Although he was a quiet man, one never had to doubt how much Ron loved them. Much like his other hobbies, loving others came very easy to Ron, and it was without a doubt his greatest mastery of all. Ron will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Ron's memory include his wife of 36 years, Paula Adams; his loving son, Tommy Adams and wife Jen, and grandchildren Anna, Hudson, and Ellis Adams; his loving daughter, Nicole Vanderlick and husband Robert, and grandchildren Kelsee, Abigail, Baylee, and Cameron Vanderlick; one sister-in-law, Debbie Strother Gueringer and husband Brian; one nephew, Jacob Gueringer; and his best friend of 40 years, Jr. Basco.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Robert, and Lenora Adams; one sister, Peggy Adams; and his mother-in-law, Leah Whitley Strother.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Jacob Gueringer, Brent Harms, Kenneth Hebert, Billy Pelt, Jerry Willis, and Jarrod Weeg. Honorary pallbearer serving is Jr. Basco.
