Kinder-Funeral service for Rollie Gordon Mayfield III, age 60, will be
held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 3pm in Ardoin Funeral Home of
Kinder. Reverend Robert Jones will officiate the service.
Visitors may begin gathering on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 1:30pm until time of service.
Rollie loved people-he treasured his family and life. He was a practical joker. He was a graduate of Kinder High School where he served as drum major. He graduated from McNeese State University as well, having majored in music. He taught music for several years. Antiques were his passion as well as his profession. He was owner of Front Porch Antiques, which originated in Lake Charles in 1998 and, then later moved to Kinder. Rollie also worked for Halliburton for more than twenty years. He was active in his community, having been a Free Mason and Past-President of the Kinder Chamber of Commerce. He was a devoted husband, a good provider for his family, and a loving grandfather. He never met a stranger!
Survivors include his wife of over twenty-one years, Earlene White Mayfield of Kinder; one daughter, Cinnamon Salvador and husband, Vic of Lake Charles; one granddaughter, Lauren Salvador of Lake Charles; and, three sisters, Paula Mayfield of Tuscan, AZ, Ginger Cappell and husband, Lane of Kinder, and Mary Jane Mayfield of Baton Rouge.
