Roderick's family will receive friend and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale on Sunday afternoon, September 29, 2024, from 2 o'clock p.m. until time of service. All of Roderick's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Roderick, affectionately called "Rod" by those who knew him, gave a different light of hope, joy, and laughter wherever he went. He spent much of his youth with his brother Gerard, fishing, playing sports, and doing all things they enjoyed doing together, all thought they would eventually go their separate ways. "Rod" joined the United States Air Force and was sent to upper Hereford, England where he spent two years while his brother finished high school. He spent several years studying his passion, martial arts. "Rod" met the mother of his children and the love of his life whom he married. Together they had two daughters, Marian and Tracy "Janine" that became the light of his life. Marian would go on to marry and give him three beautiful grandchildren that he talked about frequently. It is impossible to explain the ups and downs that he and his brother had as siblings, however he enriched his family's lives in many ways. "Rod" was a wonderful person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who know him.

Those left to cherish "Rod's" memory include his two daughters, Marian Eichnolz, and Tracy Janine Guillet; one brother, Gerard Michael Guillet, one sister, Christie Ann Madden; three grandchildren, Eli, Eliana, and Emilia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

"Rod" is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Barney Sr. and LeAnna Miller Guillet; and two brothers, Joseph Barney Jr., and Jean Richard Guillet.

Condolences and words of comfort may be shared with "Rod's" family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
