Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Robert "Bob" Rougeau, 85, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, August 28, 2024, at Kinder Bible Church. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Bob will be laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery in Elton immediately following his services.

Bob's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024, from 3-8 o'clock p.m. Bob's visitation will resume at Kinder Bible Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 12 o'clock noon until time of service. All of Bob's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Gloria "Dean" Rougeau for 60 years until her passing in October of 2023. He was a longtime resident of Kinder after living in Lake Charles for 44 years and a member of Kinder Bible Church where he attended church regularly. He was a proud United States Army veteran where he served his country during the Korean conflict. Bob was a hard worker and worked in retail sales for many years to provide for his family.  He then worked as a substitute teacher for the Allen and Jefferson Davis School Boards. Kind and caring, Bob was well known in his community and had many friends. He was election commissioner and Director of the monthly Because We Care senior luncheon in Kinder.  Bob enjoyed cooking, baking, doing yard work, flower arranging and gardening. He loved and adored his family and had a very close bond with his grandson Hunter. Bob will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Bob's memory include one son; Blake Rougeau of Kinder, LA; one grandson, Hunter B. Rougeau and his wife, Hannah of Ooltewah, TN; granddaughter, Meaghann Rougeau, and one great granddaughter, Remington Smith of Ringgold, GA; one brother, Darrell Rougeau of Maurice, LA; four sisters-in-law, Brenda Mouser and husband Chris, of Kinder, LA; Beverly Gauthreaux and husband Charlie of Iowa, LA, Natalie Rougeau of Iowa, LA, and  Melanie Fontenot of Jennings, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife Gloria "Dean" Fontenot Rougeau; his parents, Amos "Slim" and Letha Rougeau; two brothers, R.J. "Butch" Rougeau, and Donald W. Rougeau; and one brother-in-law, Rayford Fontenot.
