Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Chretien, Jr., 68, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow at Chretien Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 12 p.m.
Robert was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He attended school in Elton and was a lifelong resident of Elton. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Robert enjoyed going to zydeco dances and different community events. He was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his family and he dearly adored them. Robert loved to sit on his porch, visit with friends and barbeque. Robert worked as an operator at the Elton Rice Dryer most of his adult life. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was very involved. His sibling's say he was the "best brother in the world". He loved the old school French and zydeco music. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by all who knew and him.
Those left to cherish Roberts' memory include his three brothers, Leo Chretien and wife, Yvonne, of Beaumont, TX, Albert Chretien and wife, Maxine, of Beaumont, TX and Clayton Chretien and wife, Josephine, of Lake Charles; three sisters, Willamae Chretien Terrazas and husband, Michael, of Brookefield, IL, Annabelle Chretien of Jennings and Linda Faye Chretien Terrazas and husband, Armando, of Chicago, IL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Irene Gobert Chretien, one sister, Rita Chretien; and one brother, Dalton Chretien.
