Oakdale-A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert "Bob" Darrell Maggard, 77, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale. Rev. Fr. Vijaya Peddoju will officiate. Robert will be laid to rest with full Naval honors at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Oakdale immediately following his services.

"Bob's" family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4-8 o'clock p.m. Visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Saturday morning from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 1 o'clock p.m. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

"Bob" was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Rose for 56 years. "Bob" was wonderful family man and absolutely loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he dearly adored. He worked very hard through the years to provide for his family. "Bob" was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale and was also very involved in his community. He was a proud veteran and served our county in the United States Navy. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Kentucky Wildcats. "Bob" will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Lawson and Ethan Maggard, David Perales, Paul Michael Kaleel, and Chris and Cody Ware.

Those left to cherish "Bob's" memory include his wife Rose Maggard of Oakdale; two sons, Chris Maggard and wife Holly of Oakdale and Heath Maggard of Oberlin; one daughter, Stephanie Gann of Centre, AL; six wonderful grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

"Bob" is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie, and Maggie Lawson Maggard; two brothers, Charlie, and James Clifton Maggard; and three sisters, Loraine Collette, Laura Sturgill, and Betty Melton.
