Oberlin- Richard "Buddy" Reeves, 87, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2023.  Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin. Rev. Willis will officiate. Burial will follow at Lyles Cemetery in Oberlin under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 4-9 p.m. On Friday morning, visitation will continue at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home until time of service.

Richard, affectionately known as "Buddy", was a lifelong resident of Oberlin, Louisiana. He attended and played baseball McNeese State University. Richard graduated from Louisiana Tech University having obtained his engineering degree. He worked for Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a land surveyor for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His passion for life was his family. He also loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed football and almost any outdoor activity. He was very inventive and he had several patents.  Buddy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his partner, Jeanie Johnston; two sons, Richard Ray Reeves, Jr. and wife, Dawn, and Mark Benjamin Reeves and partner, Amanda Popilek; three daughters, Susan Reeves Culver and husband, Tim, Tammy Reeves Fruge and husband, David, Tracey Reeves Marcantel and husband, Jerry; one brother, Tommy Reeves; one sister, Carolyn Lambert; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
