Oberlin-Funeral service for Richard "Dickie" Patrick, Sr, age 75, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 South 7 th Street, Oberlin on Sunday evening from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Richard, affectionately known as "Dickie", was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked hard over the years in the heavy equipment, dirt, and building industry to provide for his family. He enjoyed hunting, visiting and drinking coffee with his friends. One might call him a "Café Hopper". His happiest moments were those spent at family gatherings which always involved eating. Dickie loved country music as well as T.V., especially Fox News and Old Westerns. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Dickie is survived by his three children, Ronald Patrick and wife, Megan, of Zachary, Deneen Bushnell and husband, Black, and Chad Patrick and wife, Christy, all of Mittie; one brother, Wiley Patrick and wife, Polly, of Oberlin; two sisters, Darlene Landry and DeAndra Layman, both of Lake Charles; five grandchildren-Kristi, Dustin, Jordan, Lane and Holly; and five great grandchildren-Ethan, Trinity, Madison, Nicholas, and Brenna.
Dickie is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Hilda Patrick; and, four sisters-Dorothy Case, Frankie Romero, Maxine Guillory, Vivian Ryder, and Sandy Shuff.
