"Lapin" was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a devoted husband to his wife Mary for 26 years. "Lapin" was a faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. He served our country in the United States Army for two years until he was honorably discharged. "Lapin" worked very hard as a mill laborer and a fire-fighter to provide for his family through the years. In his free time, he loved to spend time with family and friends always wanting to get together and make memories with the people he loved. He loved cooking especially barbecuing. "Lapin" was a very outgoing person and was always the life of the party where he loved to lift everyone's spirits. He was a pillar in the Oberlin community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He carried many of his family members through their time of need and all were grateful for his kindness. "Lapin" will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish "Lapin's" memory include his wife Mary Cooper of Oberlin; two sons, Shane Donovan Johnson of Dallas, TX, and Eddie Cooper of New Orleans; two daughters, Dawnessa Captain of Lake Charles, and Christina Cooper of Spring, TX; one brother, James "Jimmy" Cooper of Oberlin; and four sisters, Florence "Ann" Mccleon and husband Abraham, Mozella Ballard, and Ruby Malone all of Oberlin, and Clara Cooper of Baton Rouge.
"Lapin" is preceded in death by his parents Morris Sr. and Lovenia Cooper.
