Oberlin-Funeral service for Rhonda Kay Veazey Galligan, 42, will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Oberlin Baptist Church. Rev. John Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Oberlin Baptist Church beginning Monday, September 9, 2013 from 4-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Rhonda was a resident of Oakdale. She grew up in Oberlin and was a 1990 Oberlin High graduate. She worked for 18 years at Coushatta Casino Resort. Rhonda was active in her church and she loved her children. She was very friendly and outgoing, "she never met a stranger". She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include Rhonda's parents, Phillip and Lois Veazey of Oberlin; her husband, Martin Galligan of Oakdale; one son, Jacob Galligan of Oakdale; one daughter, Courtney Galligan of Oakdale; one brother, Joey Veazey and wife, Mickelle of Oberlin; and, one sister, Paula Bergeaux and husband, Ricky of Basile; and six nieces and nephews.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her grandparents, E.J. and Ethel Veazey.
