Rena was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Murry, for sixty years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, planting flowers, going to the casino, and most of all her family. Her sons say she cooked the best fried chicken. Rena worked very hard to make a happy home for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Rena's memory include her husband, Murry Fontenot of Kinder; three sons, Robert Fontenot, Wayne Fontenot and wife, Dawn, and Jimmy Fontenot and wife, Becky, all of Kinder; two brothers, Hilton Romero and wife, Terrie, of Mermenta, and Ray Romero and wife, Shirley, of Crowley; three sisters, Genevieve Durio of Welsh, Martha Deshotel of Jennings, Emily Newman and husband, Maurice, of Jennings; and two grandchildren.
Rena is preceded in death by her parents, Mckinley and Lorena Romero and one sister, Sue Gary.
