Regina Melisia Melanie Willis Carter, born in Pineville, Louisiana, lived in Woodworth for 38 years. She started her journey with God in church at the First Church of Oakdale and was a dedicated member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church of Marksville for 28 years, serving as a Sunday school teacher. She also worked as a housekeeper for four years at the Wesley Center in Woodworth. A loving mother, loving wife, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and cherished grandmother, she put God before anyone and everything else, with her strong prayer life as the true source of her strength. She shared a deep bond with her mother-in-law, praying and participating in bake sales together, often sharing her words of wisdom: "Trust God in everything; before you do anything, bring it to God; don't play about God's business." If there was one thing she would tell you, she would tell you to have a relationship with Jesus Christ if you don't already have one, and worship Him in everything you do. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, and her legacy will live on through generations.
Regina is survived by her husband, Morris Carter; three children, Eldron "Eddie", Jonathon, and Christi Carter; four grandchildren, Mason, Cecilia, Morgan Carter, and one unborn; one sister, Rita Willis; one brother, Ronnie Willis and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Audry Cloud Willis; one son, Joshua Carter; three brothers, Raymond Lee, Calvin, and Rodney Willis; and three sisters, Kathy Willis, Tangela Wisby, and Connie Clark.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Regina’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
