Oberlin-Funeral services for Ray M. Hicks, 79, of Oberlin will be Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 2 p.m. in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church. Rev Shane Nugent will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Mr. Hicks passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 4:05 p.m. in Alexandria, La. He was a resident of Oberlin, a retired truck driver, a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post #144 in Oberlin.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday in New Beginnings Assembly of God.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Hicks of San Antonio, Tx., Marvin Hicks of Channel View Tx.; step son, Charles Chapman of Oberlin; stepdaughter, Marie Chapman of Elizabeth: three Brothers, Jimmy Hicks of Kinder, Roy Hicks of Moss Bluff and Sherald Hicks of Toledo Bend; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
