Oakdale-A Mass Celebration will be held in honor of the life of Ray Menard Barnidge, 75, on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Elmer. Father Kenneth Obiekwe will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Elmer under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
The family will receive visitors at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Saturday, August 5, 2017, from 9 A.M. until time of service.
Ray graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1959. He lived in Houston for many years and worked as a land developer mostly in West Texas. He was a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where he was a participant in the Men's Prayer Group. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Ray's memory include his siblings Kay Barnidge, Mildred Thieis, Vickie Pendergrass, and Marvin Barnidge all of Alexandria, and a few nieces and nephews.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Olan Barnidge and Millie Terrell Barnidge, and his younger sister Melinda Barnidge.
Pall Bearers include Lee Weatherford, Justin Gillespie, Dustin Thieis, Clint McLaughlin, David Smith, and Rick Vereen. Honorary Pall Bearers are Lacey E. Williams, Jack Barnidge, Marcus Connella, Dan Brister, and William Terrell.
