Kinder-Funeral service for Raphael "Ray" Durosseau, Sr., 73, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 765 Mt. Moriah Church Hineston, La 71438, under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 5 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Ray was a loving father and husband. He loved to farm and raise his animals. He had pride in his home and family. He enjoyed going to town and drinking coffee with his friends. Ray loved life and wanted to enjoy every minute of it. He was a strong, proud, independent man who never met a stranger. Anytime you saw him he always had a smile. He loved to laugh and joke around. He would help anyone who was in need at any time. He lived with his loving companion, Sheila Smith, and his dear friend John Smith. Ray passed peacefully in the arms of his loving faithful companion with his dear friend by his side. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Ray's memory include his two sons, Raphael Durosseau, Jr. of Tacoma, WA and Trenton Durosseau and wife, Haley, of Montgomery, TX; one daughter, Rachelle Engrum and husband, Michael, of Louisa, VA; and five grandchildren.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Orleas and Selma Durosseau; spouse, Annette Lavan Durosseau; and one sister, Sandra Mott.

Pallbearers to serve are: Trenton Durosseau, John Smith, Charles Smith, Johnny Wayne Smith, Mark Johnson, and Kenny Soileau.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Raphael Durosseau, Jr., Jacob Durosseau, Richard Durousseau, Daniel Durousseau, Michael Durousseau, Patrick Woods, and Keith Smith.
