Kinder-Funeral service will be held for Mr. Randy Matthis, age 59, on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2pm in Ardoin Funeral Home at Kinder. Rev. Glenn Ducharme will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors beginning on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 3-9pm at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will continue Friday from 8am until time of service.
Randy was retired with Southern Pacific Railroad as an electrician for more than 22 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and cooking; but cooking was his passion and he was an excellent cook. He was a loving dad and grandfather and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Robyn Norris Matthis of Lafayette; three daughters, Casey Louviere and husband Colin of Lake Charles, Spring Breaux and husband Aaron of Lafayette, Victoria Neely of Lafayette; two sons, Derek Matthis of Lake Charles, Chip Guy and wife Treva of Virginia; two brothers, Herb Matthis and wife Janet of Bell City, Paul Matthis and wife Sylvia of Westlake; one sister, Toni Shanaeager and husband Roger of Kinder; and ten grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Edward Matthis.
