Ramona Gayle Talbott Bruce, 83, of Reeves was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her residence.
Ramona was born January 21, 1929 to Ralph & Nevada Talbott in Fort Madison, Iowa. Ramona had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Allen Parish Library Board. She initiated the program at Creel Memorial Gardens to recognize all the veterans in the cemetery. She was a member of Dry Creek Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Russell Gary Bruce and Jeffrey Ralph Bruce, her sisters Ida Jenson, Violet Glesner, Virginia Hageman, her brothers, Leon (Sonny) Talbott, Russell Talbott, Virgil(Buck) Talbott.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Charles Perry Bruce; son, Charles Bruce of Reeves, LA; sister Eula Hendrick of Warsaw, Illinois, grandsons, Glen Bruce of Reeves and Michael Bruce of Commerce, TX; granddaughter, Amanda Bruce of Commerce, TX; 4 great grandchildren of Reeves – Hunter, Emma, Marci and Olivia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was an avid reader. She loved the Word of God and was very knowledgeable about Scripture. She was always interested in history and genealogy. She delighted in and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved a good cup of coffee.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 2 at 10 a.m. at Dry Creek Bible Church, Dry Creek, LA. Rev. Sam Burchard and Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Dry Creek Bible Church Monday, October 1 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 2 from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dry Creek Bible Church, Camp Pearl Ministries or a charity of one's choice.
