Grand Isle, La.-Funeral Service for Mr. Preston "Pete" Adams, Sr., age 88, will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11AM in Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. Fr. Mike Tran will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Isle Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held in Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church of Grand Isle on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 9AM until time of service.
Preston was a current resident of Kinder, formerly of Grand Isle, Louisiana. He was a member of Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. He served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He saw combat in Central Europe as an anti-tank gunner. He was extremely patriotic and he loved his country. He was also a retired ship captain with Exxon having served more than thirty years with the company. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed shrimping, as well. His passion was to teach his grandchildren all about life and how to fish. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be truly missed by all.
Survivors include one son, Bob Sevin and wife, Joyce of Grand Isle; one daughter, Elaine Peloquin of Kinder; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Preston is preceded in death by his wife, Augusta Terrebonne Adams, his parents, Alice and Ben Adams, a son, Preston Adams, Jr. and a son-in-law, Durell Peloquin, Sr.
