Kinder-Pierre Randel Nevils, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Kinder Retirement and Rehab Center after a long journey with Lewy body dementia. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. Clifton LeJeune will officiate. Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Pierre was born October 25, 1934 to Luke and Fannie (Cartrett) Nevils. He was a 1954 graduate of Kinder High School. Pierre married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Lormand) in 1955. Three years into their marriage, Pierre joined the army where he served from 1958-1962. During his time in the army the first of his two sons, Randel Pernell "Perny" Nevils, was born on May 11, 1961. Nearly three years later on January 9, 1964, Pierre and Shirley welcomed their second son Lionel Scott Nevils. After retiring from Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Pierre enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends and fishing from his canoe in the Calcasieu River. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pierre is survived by his sons, Randel Nevils and Scott (Joni) Nevils; one sister, Ouida Savant Baggett; grandchildren Luke (Crystal) Nevils, Chad (Laura) Nevils, Ruthanne Nevils, Jennifer (Jason) Wall, Corey (Sophie) Garrett, and Cody Braendel; great grandchildren Kadence, Laikyn, Jeslyn, Zachary, Madelyn, and James; and many other loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Ann Nevils; his parents; one grandson, Matthew Wayne Nevils; siblings, Jennie Connely, Daniel Nevils, Denver Nevils, Ruth Savant, Luke Nevils, Jr., and Mary Williams.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, LA and Kinder Retirement and Rehab Center in Kinder, LA for the many years of care provided to their loving father and Pappy; also, thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice.
