Phillip Paul Karam Sr., 73, passed away on October 8, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a proud veteran who dedicated a part of his life to serving his country. Phillip proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from September 18, 1970, through November 27, 1974. He received an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Antarctic Service Medal. During his military service, Phillip served in Vietnam, where he was wounded after being shot in the left leg. His courage, sacrifice, and commitment to his country were a source of pride throughout his life.
Phillip enjoyed the simple things in life that brought him happiness. He loved hunting, fishing, and working on trucks, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were simply being around his wife, children, and grandchildren. He treasured every day he was able to spend with the people he loved and created countless memories that his family will carry with them forever.
Phillip was a man who valued family above all else. His love for Cheryl, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were evident in the way he lived his life. He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, love of family, military service, and the countless memories he created with those around him.
Though he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Cheryl, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Dad, you gave us a lifetime of memories that we will treasure forever. We will miss your smile, your stories, and simply having you here with us. Until we meet again, you will always be loved and never forgotten.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kristy Karam Perry and husband Mike Perry; his son, Phillip Paul Karam Jr. and wife Candace Karam; and his son, Trenton Stephen Karam. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought tremendous love and joy into his life.
Phillip was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl Lynn Karam; his father, Wilson Phillip Karam; and his mother, Theresa Karam.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Jace Karam, Zach Karam, Dakota Perry, Mikel Perry, Jaxon Karam, Cameron Perry, and Connor Perry.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Guinn, Chad Byrd, Alan Byrd, and Mikel Theriot.
