Oakdale-Funeral service for Pearl Johnson Turner, 96, will be held Monday, June 3, 2019, at 3 p.m. in Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Cryer Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, 311 Highway 1152, Oakdale, on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Pearl was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.  She was married to Robert Louis (R.L.) Turner, Sr. for over 50 years before he passed away.  They had 6 children and 14 foster children.  Pearl herself was from a large family.  She had nine brothers and sisters.  She also had many, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as "Granny" and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Pearl's memory include her daughters, Barbara Pettypoole and husband, Shorty, of Sulphur and Janell Suydam and husband, Michael Ray, Sr. of Topsy; one brother, O.L. Johnson of Elizabeth; one sister, Ellen Turner of Sulphur; and numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Leander and Isaline (Marcantel) Johnson; her husband, Robert Louis (R.L.) Turner, Sr; one son, Robert Louis Turner, Jr; three daughters, JoAnn Cavdo, Betty Lynn Oquain, and Sandra Gayle Suydam; three brothers, Edmond, Alton, and LeRoy Johnson; and three sisters, Ruby Skinner, Effie Spear, and Lorena Spears.
