Oberlin-Funeral service for Pearl S. Taylor, 97, will be held at Oberlin Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014. Bro. Lloyd Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 3-9 p.m. at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7th Street, Oberlin. Visitation will continue at Oberlin Baptist Church on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Pearl was a lifelong resident of Oberlin and member of Oberlin Baptist Church. She loved cooking and quilting for her family and friends. She was a beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Pearl touched the lives of everyone that met her. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Manuel and husband, Jerome of Hathaway; one granddaughter, Rhonda Manuel and fiance', Dwayne "Tut" Broussard of Hathaway; two grandsons, Jason Manuel and wife, Rebecca of Ragley and Kevin Manuel and wife, Kelli of Elton; 8 great grandchildren-Cassie John and husband, Terry of Kinder, Kayla Willis and fiance', Aaron Doga of Egan, Ryan Willis and fiancee', Brittany Dupont of Hathaway, Keagan, Dylan and Ethan Manuel of Ragley, and Maverick and Katie Jo Manuel of Elton; 5 great-great grandchildren-Meliza Keeton, Maddie, Dylan and Holden John, and Jase Doga.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ament Sonnier; her husband, H.C. "Chic" Taylor; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
