Elton- Funeral service for Mrs. Patsy Sonnier, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton.
Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 1-9 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Patsy was a devoted wife of 40 years to her husband, Gerald. She was also a loving mother and grandmother. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic, a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church choir and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a beautician for over 30 years, as well. Patsy loved the outdoors and also liked helping her husband take care of their horses. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Patsy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Patsy's memory include her husband, Gerald Sonnier of Elton; seven children, Greg Gary and Cynthia Middleton, both of Lake Charles, Elizabeth Matt and husband, Mike of Basile, Gary Sonnier and wife, Georgie of LeBlanc, Paula Sonnier of Kinder, Gerald Sonnier and wife, Liz of Elton, and Joey Manuel of Elton; 16 grandchildren including Joshua, Ashley, Beau, Jonah and wife, Anne-Marie; 21 great grandchildren including Kaleigh, Grifin, Caleb, Grant, Gracelyn, Noah, Gavin and Ian.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Easton and Elvie Bergeron; one brother, Marion "Sonny" Bergeron; and one sister, Joyce Langley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice, Dr. Michael Broussard and his nurses, to her housekeeper, Tiny Paupillon, and to all her friends whom she loved dearly.
