Our hearts are heavy yet overflowing with joy as we celebrate the glorious Homegoing of our beloved mother, Patricia Ann Lavergne Davis, who has now stepped into her eternal reward and is resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served so faithfully all her life.
She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, and now she’s received her crown of righteousness! Hallelujah! What a homecoming that must have been!
Patricia was affectionately called Sis. Patsy by all who knew her. She was born on Friday, March 26, 1943, to the union of Earlie Joseph Lavergne and Mary Glade Darbonne Lavergne in Palmetta, LA. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Patricia enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and baking for family and friends, and singing gospel music. She loved raising her children and grandchildren, and being the late Pastor’s wife, the church mother for The Pentecostals of Elton and Basile. She was a kind and caring soul who loved everyone she encountered. She will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Patricia’s memory include her four sons, Butch Davis and wife Melissa, Rev. Chauncey Davis, Rev. Mark Fontenot and wife Ginger, and Timothy Davis, one daughter, Jaqueline Dupre and husband Joey; one sister, Vernita Soileau; eleven grandchildren, Alaina, Trey, Maghin, and Lacelyn Davis, Kelly Ordonez, Marcus Bellow, Madison and Miley Dupre, Gia Davis, Amber Thompson, and Autumn Latham, eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M.G. Davis; her parents, Earlie Joseph Lavergne and Mary Glade Darbonne Lavergne; and two sisters, ElWanda Fontenot, and Joyce Lavergne.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Patricia’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
