Pamela’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026, from 10 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of Pamela’s arrangements have been entrusted to care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Pam was an innocent and beautiful soul whose life, though marked by many hardships, was also filled with love, resilience, and quiet strength. She attended the Louisiana Special Education Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, and spent many years living in group homes that cared for individuals with disabilities. Despite the challenges she faced, Pam never allowed her disability to define her or diminish the love she shared with others.

Pam was known for her kind heart, her outspoken nature, and her deep loyalty to the people she loved. Her life required total dependence on the kindness of others, yet she always found ways to give love in return. She rarely missed remembering a birthday or sending kind thoughts to family members. Her faithfulness and strength served as a quiet witness to everyone who knew her. More than anything, Pam loved her family. She treasured being a mother to her beloved daughter, Makenzie Adams. Her love for her daughter was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Pam’s life reminds us that love, kindness, and faithfulness can shine brightly even in the hardest of circumstances. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. We pray that she who endured so much with childlike trust is now running freely into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, finally whole, finally home, where every tear is wiped away and she can finally rest in His eternal embrace.

She leaves behind many who will cherish her memory, including her husband, Dwayne Adams; her daughter, Makenzie Adams; her sister, Cindy Fontenot and husband Frank; and her brothers, Doug Cart and Greg Cart (Tammy). She also leaves her dear and special friend, Makeisha Johnson, who lovingly cared for her for many years and spoiled her rotten, along with Makeisha’s sons—Dominique, Carey, Tyler, Cameron, and Dylon—and her mother, Sandra Antee. Pam is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Fontenot Cart and Douglas Cart; her sisters, Jennifer Cart and Tina Cart; Makeisha’s dad, Wayne Antee (Paw); and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Letter from Makeisha Johnson

My Best Friend,

Oh, how I’m going to miss you Pam. You came in my life just when I needed a friend, a prayer, a partner and a firecracker to keep me going. I’ll never forget the times we shared. The drives to Oberlin to visit with your family. With you waiting on my check for crawfish. Some may say I was your caregiver. But you were my greatest inspiration. Pam, I’m going to miss you, Pearlie. Love you Pam.
