Elton- Funeral service for Mr. Oscar Cyrus Shuff, 92, will be held Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 10a.m. in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. John Cernec & Rev. Vernon Chevallier will officiate. Burial will be in China Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11am-9pm with a scripture service at 7p.m and will continue Thursday at 8a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Shuff was a lifelong resident of Elton, a farmer, loved to bail hay & was an avid hunter. Mr. Shuff was a friend to everyone who knew him. He passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 in Elton.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jean Shuff Gilmore of Lake Charles, Lana Gayle Shuff Stephens & her husband Wayne of Gray, GA; brother, William King Shuff of Phenix City, AL; son-in-law, L.J. Bergeron of Fannet, TX; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife Eula Mae Daigle Shuff; daughter, Carolyn Ruth Bergeron; granddaughter, Glynnis Walters; great grandson, Kasey Cormier; son-in-law, John E. Gilmore Jr.; three brothers, Lloyd Shuff, Jesse Shuff, Clifton Shuff; two sisters, Ruby Bilsky & Zella Fruge.
