Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Orise Cormier, Sr., 81, will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 2 PM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Minister Anthony James Eaves will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Monday from 3 to 10 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 7 AM till time of service.
Mr. Cormier was a resident of Kinder for 47 years before moving to LeBlanc. He enjoyed hunting rabbit and growing vegetables in his garden, which he would sell to the community. He was a member of The Church of Christ of Kinder for over 50 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elda Ortego Cormier of LeBlanc; two sons, Orise Cormier, Jr. of Ragley, and Dennis Cormier and his wife Julee of Kinder; three daughters, Barbara Hargrave and husband William of Kinder, Judy LeBlanc and husband Charles of LeBlanc, and Ella Eaves and husband Anthony of LeBlanc; one brother, Clevence Cormier and wife Judy of Indian Village; two sisters, Lucy Mallet of Lacassine and Bernadine Fontenot of Lake Charles; 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
