Elton-Funeral services for Nydell Dirk Poncho, 44, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Janson Poncho will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Nydell Dirk Poncho was born on July 3, 1978. He went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2022 surrounded by his family. Nydell was a kind person with a huge heart for his family and friends. He adored his son, Zachary Poncho York. He loved being outdoors and he especially enjoyed fishing. He also loved spending time with his family and loved spending time with his best friend, his brother Bradley Poncho. It was known by those who knew him best that he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He often played jokes on people and his quick witted nature gave others a laugh which made him happy. He loved all kinds of music and dancing especially, powwow dancing. He also loved cooking and was quite good at it. Nydell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Nydell's memory include his mother, Lora John Langley of Kinder; adopted son, Zachary Poncho York; six brothers and sisters, Virginia King, Rev. Janson Poncho, Candice Mingo, Bradley Poncho, Tina Poncho and Traci Ahashapnek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Nydell is preceded in death by his father, Lee David Poncho; and nephew, Cody Poncho.
