Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Nita Faye Strother, 76, will be held at 1 o'clock p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Chad Longino will officiate. Faye will be laid to rest at Union Hill Cemetery immediately following her services.

Faye's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5-10 o'clock p.m. Faye's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Friday morning, February 9, 2024, from 10 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Nita's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Nita, affectionately called Faye by all who knew her, was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She worked as a cafeteria cook for Rapides Parish School Board for 16 years where she always made sure all the children had food. Nita loved to crochet and knit but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her little dog "Peanut". Faye was a very loving and caring person and will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Faye's memory include one son, Alton Lane Strother; one brother, Clyde Doyle; and one sister, Wanda Glenn Lockhart.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, "Sonny Boy" and Elvie Doyle; her husband, Jimmy Strother; one daughter, Elizabeth Strother; three brothers, Dewayne "Skipper", Ronnie, and L.C. Doyle, and one special friend, Roger Burnette.

Faye's family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to All Saint's Hospice and Allen Oaks Nursing Home for all the love and compassion shown to Faye.
