Kinder- Funeral service for Mrs. Nita Marcantel, 87, was held Monday, August 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder. Father John Cunningham and Rev. T.L. Smith officiated. Burial was in Green Oaks Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. followed by a vigil service. Visitation continued Monday from 7 a.m. till time of service.
Mrs. Nita was a resident of Kinder. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, and the Secular Franciscans III Order.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Raymond Marcantel; infant twins, Ray and Raymond Marcantel, and a son, Ray Wayne Marcantel. She is survived by her sons; Hartwell Lee Marcantel and wife Diane of Kinder, Roy Warren Marcantel and wife Chris of Lake Charles, Earl Delano Marcantel and wife Nelma of Lafayette, and Leonard Lee Marcantel and wife Jennifer of Orange, TX. ; one daughter, Mrs. Earline Marie Fontenot and husband Dubby of Kinder; and one brother, Mr. Warren Evans Doget and wife Joyce of Alta Loma, CA. She has 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
