Elton-Funeral service for Nettie Ortego Kersh, 86, will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning from 8 A.M. until time of service.
Nettie and her husband traveled extensively over the years while he was serving in the Unite States Army. They were a true military family. Nettie greatly cherished her son, Glenn, who died in his early 20's. She mourned his loss for the remainder of her life.
Nettie is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hamilton Kersh; her parents, Luma and Eve Ortego; her son, Glenn Edward Kersh; two brothers, Paul Joseph Ortego and Sherman John Ortego; and three sisters, Mildred Lafleur, Anna Mae Fontenot, and Shirley Guillory.
Nettie is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
