Oakdale-Funeral Services for Nell Welch, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Weldon Hebert will officiate. Burial will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Nell was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Daulton, until his passing in December 2016. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and hunting with her son. After going hunting quite a few times with her son, she killed the deer he had been after for a while. Nell was a lifelong resident of Cypress Creek and a member of the Cypress Creek Church of Christ. Out of everything Nell enjoyed, nothing compared to how much she loved having her children and grandchildren around. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Nell's memory include her son, Daniel Welch and wife, Rhonda, of Cypress Creek; one daughter, Sarah Deshotel and husband, Johnny, of Pine Prairie; one brother, David Chapman and wife, Donna, of Beaver Creek; one sister, Clarice Young of Pine Prairie; five grandchildren, Brooke West and husband, D'wayne, Hunter Welch and wife, Molly, Derrick Welch and wife, Julie, Adam Deshotel and Davis Deshotel; six great grandchildren, Amelia, Levi and Amy Welch, Jolie, Saigan and Rhett West; as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.
Nell is preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Audrey Chapman; husband, Daulton Welch; two sons, Darrell and Kirk Welch; and one sister, Georgia Carpenter.
Pallbearers honored to serve are-Derrick Welch, Hunter Welch, Adam Deshotel, Davis Deshotel, Johnny Deshotel and D'Wayne West. Honorary pallbearers are Levi Welch, Saigan West and Rhett West.
