Kinder –A Mass of Christian burial for Murray Joseph Fontenot, 78, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/ Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/ Allen Parish Funeral Home, Friday, November 15, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.  The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Murry was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Rena for sixty years until her passing back in March. He worked very hard as a welder to provide for his family.  He was a man of strong faith and was very proud of his Catholic heritage.  He attended church at Sacred Heart Chapel in Indian Village. Murry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed barbequing, growing a huge garden, and raising animals. Murry will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.  Those left to cherish Murry's memory include three sons, Robert Allen Fontenot of Kinder, Kenneth Wayne Fontenot and wife, Dawn of Kinder, Jimmy Shane Fontenot and wife, Rebecca of Kinder, two grandchildren, Justin Tate Fontenot and Olivia Hope Fontenot.

Murry is preceded in death by his parents, Murry and Vergie Fontenot, three brothers, Austin "Jimbo" Fontenot, Ronnie Fontenot, and Frankie Fontenot.
