Kinder-Funeral service for Murphy Joseph Gauthreaux, age 87, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home beginning Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 3-9 p.m. A Vigil Service followed by the Holy Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning until time of service.
Murphy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married for 67 years to his loving wife, Janis. He loved to cook, fish, and spend time with his family. He also loved his animals. Murphy was the owner of Kinder Butcher Shop for several years where he was known for his boudin and sausage. Murphy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Murphy's memory include his devoted wife, Janis Morgan Gauthreaux of Kinder; one son, Murphy Keith Gauthreaux of Kinder; one daughter, Vera Gay Chaumont of Kinder; two foster daughters, April Morgan Coronado of Houston, TX and Tammy Clary Marsh of Elton; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Eula Gauthreaux.
