Kinder-Funeral service will be held for Mona West, 52, on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2pm in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terrance Brownlow-Dindy will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder beginning on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 3-4pm for private family viewing. The family will then receive visitors from 4-8pm and will continue on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
Mona was born and lived several years in Springhill, Louisiana. Later, her family moved to Lake Charles where she graduated from Sam Houston High School and Delta School of Business. She was employed and thoroughly enjoyed her job with Perry Dickerson Accounting. She loved to read, was an avid football fan, especially LSU, and loved the roses that her husband planted for her in their yard. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister who found great joy in being surrounded by her family. She had a close bond and was "like a grandmother" to her sister-in law's child, A.J., who will greatly miss his "Nanny".
Survivors include her mother, Lola Fields Cole of Many; her husband, Keith West of Kinder; two sons, Derek Scott Fields of Moss Bluff and Louis Keeter West of Kinder; two brothers, Danny Ray Fields and wife, Marlene of Oakdale and Boyde Randall Fields of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Lula Jane Sikes of Iowa and Lola Jean Watt and husband, Louis of West Monroe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mona is preceded in death by her father, Boyd Fields and her sister, Elizabeth Hebert.
