Lake Charles- Funeral service for Michael Ray Luquette, 33, will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2 PM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Mr. Shelton Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Chloe.

Visitation will begin on Monday from 5 to 9 PM, in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder, and will continue on Tuesday from 8 AM till time of service.

Michael was born in Welsh, raised in Chloe and educated in Iowa. He lived most of his life in the Lake Charles area. He worked as a painter and carpenter for Ward and Sons Drywall. Michael enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. His greatest times were those he spent with his son. He will be most remembered for his love of his family. Mr. Luquette died Thursday, September 24, 2009 in New Orleans.

Michael is survived by one son, Samuel Spears of LeBlanc; his father Danny Ray Luquette and his wife Sheila Fay of Moss Bluff; grandmother, Felicia McGinty of Chloe; one sister, Allisha McCullough and husband Cody of Pitkin; two brothers, Abel "Chip" Manuel and wife Leslie of Lake Charles, and Carl Manuel and partner Marie of Westlake; his special friend Breezy Fontenot; and six nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Elaine Luquette; brother, Philip Manuel and grandparents, Sonny and Jean Luquette and Noah Miller.
