Oakdale-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael Keith Winfree, 66, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 10 o'clock a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Oakdale.  Rev. Vijaya Peddoju will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home, Highway 311 LA-1152, Oakdale on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.  On Tuesday morning, family and friends will meet at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. mass honoring the life of Michael.

Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a native of Oakdale and was currently living in Somerset, Kentucky.  He was a man of many hobbies, mostly those that were technical and mechanical in nature.   Michael loved flying his airplane, enjoyed his pet birds, and was an avid LSU fan.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Michael's memory include his wife, Genna Shoemake Winfree of Somerset, KY; two sons, Brandon Winfree and Michael Kasey Winfree of Oakdale; two brothers, Gary Winfree and Jeffery Winfree, both of Oakdale; one sister, Rhonda Winfree of Oakdale; six grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, William and Geraldine Winfree.
