Michael Eugene
Turner
July 3, 1963 – August 9, 2021
Zachary-Memorial services for Michael E. Turner, 58, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.
Mike was a loving husband, daddy, pawpaw, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a kind, devoted husband to his wife, Yvonne, of six years. Mike was a coach of many sports for more than thirty-five years. He had a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing young student athletes. Among those were his three sons who he coached through school and was a hero to them in many aspects. He was a driven and versatile electrical engineer who worked in many different industries throughout his career including the Navy, where he was a nuclear prolusion engineer. In his journey through life, he used his professional experiences to guide many friends and family members.
His biggest passion was spending time with his three boys, and he cherished every opportunity he had with them. He enjoyed being on his boat and his motorcycle, entertaining, and sharing food and drinks with his friends and family. He never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a hand and would give the shirt off his back during a rainstorm. He was a friend to all but a family man to most. Mike filled hearts with love and hope and brought comfort and laughter to anyone with whom he crossed paths. He played saxophone, enjoyed good jazz music, and loved to dance. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Mike's memory include his mother, Judy Magee of Cynthiana, KY; wife, Yvonne Turner of Springfield, LA; three sons, Robert "Bobby" E. Turner and fiancée, Meghan Norton, of Braithwaite, LA, John Michael Turner and wife, Lindsey, of Richmond, KY and Andrew Scott Turner and girlfriend, Christa, of Winter Haven, FL; two step-sons, Alex Pendleton of Hammond, LA and Zach Pendleton of Richmond, KY; two brothers, David Turner and wife, Sharon, of Springfield, KY and Phillip Turner and wife, Tender, of Richmond, KY; three sisters, Patricia Manzano and husband, Alex, Pamela Laytart and husband, Joe, and Jennifer Craycraft all of Cynthiana, KY; and three grandchildren, Aleyah Beagle, Campbell Ann Turner and Conley Evelyn Turner.
